ROMAN BLINDS

ROMAN BLINDS

One kind of window covering that is used to keep the sun out is the roman shade. Roman shades differ from regular window shades in that they stack up evenly when opened, but unlike regular vertical shades or blinds, they are distinctly smooth when they are open.

Roman vertical blinds or shades typically have a cord system that allows the operator to change the height of the area that is covered. Typically, cords are attached at the bottom of the blind and run vertically on its exterior side, passing through eyelets or stiffener rods spaced evenly along their length. In this instance, the bottom of the blinds will be uniformly stacked, while the opened section will stay smooth.
